
Brian Martinez
Director of Information Technology
Brian Martinez joined Benjamin West in January of 2008 as Director of Information Technology. Brian made the transition to Benjamin West, one of his clients of 8 years, after owning and operating a successful computer integration business specializing in system integration, network maintenance, computer cabling and phone system installations for businesses.
Mr. Martinez has over fifteen years of experience in many areas of business, with the breadth of his knowledge base focused on computer integration. Brian holds many industry standard certifications such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Certified Novel Engineer and Certified Sonicwall Engineer.
Brian has experience in various IT and Business capacities. Prior to operating his own business, Brian was a Cost Engineer and IT Manager for a private government contractor catering to the Department of Defense and the Army Corps of Engineers. In his capacity as Cost Engineer, Brian managed several government cost reimbursable contract budgets (the largest being a contract of $27 million dollars for the cleanup of a Superfund site). Mr. Martinez’s role involved the appropriation and authorization of funds, cost reporting, tracking and all invoicing to the Defense Contract Audit Agency, a division of the Department of Defense. As part of this role Brian also managed a large secretarial staff, non-employee service providers, and subcontractors. As the IT Manager, Brian was responsible for all aspects of computer network management for an office of forty employees.
Brian is a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College where he earned his BA degree in Business Information Systems.
