Christina Esser

Christina joined Benjamin West in 2010 and has advanced from Project Coordinator to Senior Director of Purchasing, Training and Development. During her 16 years with the company, she has managed procurement for more than 100 hospitality projects, including renovations and new developments for leading hotel brands such as Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Starwood. She brings a comprehensive understanding of the procurement process from initial design development through installation and project completion.

With a professional background in high-end residential interior design, Christina approaches procurement with both a design and purchasing perspective. She works closely with clients and design teams to protect design intent while maximizing value, managing budgets, evaluating product quality and durability, and making informed sourcing decisions. Her extensive knowledge of FF&E commodities, manufacturers, pricing, lead times, warranties, and vendor capabilities allows her to anticipate challenges and develop solutions early in the process.

Christina has managed the procurement strategy across more than $200 million in project spend, with extensive experience in strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, value engineering, vendor negotiations, budgeting, forecasting, and project execution. She is particularly passionate about early collaboration between design and procurement, helping clients balance aesthetics, cost, performance, and long-term operational needs.

 

Beyond individual projects, Christina contributes to company-wide purchasing strategy, procurement processes, technology, vendor relationships, training, and best practices. She also supports business development as an FF&E procurement expert, helping clients align design, cost, quality, schedule, and operational needs.

 

Christina holds an Interior Design degree with honors.
